Yogi Happiness Soup
I was 18 the first time I practiced Kundalini yoga — standing next to my mom, the way so many of the best things in my life have started.
She went further first. In 2009, she traveled to the ashram in New Mexico and became a Kundalini yogi. I followed in 2022, walking a path she had already helped clear. Between us and around us were teachers — patient, luminous, generous people who showed up at exactly the right moments and gave us exactly what we needed to keep going.
Yogi Happiness is for all of them. For every yogi in the lineage, every teacher who lit the way, every seeker still finding their practice.
Mustard seeds guard against harmful magic — protection for the journey. Cumin seeds bring warmth, comfort, loyalty, and protection — the qualities of every good teacher. Curry leaves open curiosity, passion, and sexuality, the life force that Kundalini works to awaken. Cinnamon for love, passion, and attraction. Ginger for its fierce protective nature. Chili to ignite the eternal fire — adi shakti, the primal energy, alive in every bite. Garlic and onion to ward off negative energy and keep the field clear. Lentils for increased wealth and health. Coconut milk for luxury and comfort — because the spiritual path doesn't have to be austere. Spinach to bring richness and well-being.
This is a bowl made for people who understand that nourishment is sacred. That what we put into our bodies is a practice, just like what we put into our minds and hearts.
Sat Nam. Truth is my identity. And this soup is made with nothing but.
